Golden Boy Holding 4 man 140lb Tournament - Winner Gets Khan

62 Comments by Tommy Allan Published on 03-20-2013 10:08 PM
According to 140lb contender Amir Khan, Golden Boy will be holding a 4 man tournament in the 140lb weight class. The first fight will be between world number 1 Danny Garcia and former champion Zab Judah on April 27. The second semi-final will be between IBF champion Lamont Peterson and power-punching Argentine, Lucas Matthysse.

Khan confirmed via his personal twitter account that both the winners of the fights will square off and the last man standing will face him at the end of the year.

Khan continues his comeback on April 27 when he takes on former Lightweight title holder, Julio Diaz, in Sheffield.

Seems like a great idea to me

They're all good fights and at the end we have a division cleared out.

Thats the most backward idea I've heard so the winner of a tournament which contains 2 men who have beaten Khan gets to face Khan

It's a great move. Every fighter involved will be happy with this. They all get good fights and have a huge payday waiting at the end should they win.

Why would any boxing fan not be happy with seeing these fights?

It's a smart move by GBP. Whoever wins this tournament is going to be a big star and with the money Khan generates thats a huge fight to end it.

I agree that the prize here is ridiculous, but other than that this actually sounds really dope.
