    Haye To Return?

7 Comments by Jimi Rose Published on 03-13-2013 03:07 PM
David Haye may be planning to make a comeback to the heavyweight division and earn his right for a fight with either Klitschko brother.

Haye last stepped into the ring last July to face Dereck Chisora in a controversial, yet entertaining bout which ended in Haye Knocking Chisora out in round five.

Haye has repeatedly stated he is only willing to return to the ring to face an opponent named Klitschko but according to the Sun newspaper, has softened his stance.

The ‘Hayemaker’ is in the top five of all four major governing bodies rankings at heavyweight so one or two fights may be all that’s required to work his way back into a mandatory position.

He is also still widely considered the best heavyweight outside of the Klitschko’s by most observers.

A bout against WBA ‘regular’ champion Alexander Povetkin may whet Hayes appetite, but there are also fights in America available against the likes of Chris Arreola and Jonathan Banks.

Haye retired on his 31st birthday after his one sided points loss to Wladimir Klitschko in 2011, and has recently been involved in the UKs I’m a celebrity get me out here TV show, where he finished third.

Haye’s record currently stands at 26-2 with 24KO’s.

He will still want a fighter with a big name and ranking. I believe he's not attached to any promoter so could see Fury as an option

Dave has the ability to compete with anyone in the division. His comeback could make for some really action packed fights as well. I would love to see him fight Povetkin as I think that would be a superb fight and one Dave could win pretty handily. Arreola would also be a great fight.

This is poorly written. How do you know what is he planning? You read it somewhere, heard him or someone close to him say it? Some rumours, speculations?

the hell is the point? aside from a V.Klitschko Fight or a Wladimir Rematch or facing someone like Fury, Arreola, Wilder, Pulev or another Ranked HW whats the point? haye is just stalling for a big fight which draws a lot of attention and a big pay cheque to be honest with you after he first retired I thought that was it then he came back

He has to go to sleep every night knowing he had an opportunity to beat Wladimir Klitschko and he completely bottled it....if that was me I'd find it hard to move on and I'd have to redeem myself somehow
