Fresh off his first UFC win at UFC 129, Ben Henderson is wasting no time in continuing his forward momentum. The former WEC lightweight champion has already agreed to his next fight, and it will come against one of the the division's surging talents.

Henderson will face Jim Miller at UFC on Versus 5 on August 14, the UFC confirmed late on Tuesday night.

On April 30 at the landmark Toronto UFC 129 event, Henderson earned a unanimous decision win over submission specialist Mark Bocek in his first fight after losing the WEC title to Anthony Pettis in one of 2010's best fights. Henderson (13-2) rebounded in style with a strong performance.

Miller though, represents the most seasoned opponent he's yet to face in his career.

The New Jersey-based Miller has been one of the UFC's most consistent performers over the last few years. He's gone 9-1 since signing with the promotion in 2008, and is 20-2 overall while riding a seven-fight win streak. He has finished each of his last two opponents -- Charles Oliveira by kneebar submission, and Kamal Shalorus via TKO.

Now that is a fight to get excited about! If Jim Miller wins, he really deserves a title shot.

There's a queue forming at this stage. Maynard, Pettis then some people think Guillard if he wins his next one. LW is crazy stacked right now

Jim has won 7 fights in a row now. Before his loss to Maynard, he had won 8 in a row. Melvin has won 4 fights in a row. Jim is much more deserving than Melvin.

Jim has won 7 fights in a row now. Before his loss to Maynard, he had won 8 in a row. In fact his only two losses have been to Gray Maynard and Frankie Edgar, both by decision. Melvin has won 4 fights in a row. Jim is much more deserving than Melvin.

I don't think Melvin deserves one at all. But there seems to be a lot of people that do. Plus Pettis is top of the queue anyway unless he loses to Guida

Henderson knows this is a building block, he lost a close fight with pettis and pettis has his hands more than full with guida. Maynard is the top guy at the mo just waiting on thier injuries for the fight to be made with Edgar. the rest will have to wait. i can see dana putting the winneer of guida vs pettis in top spot after the maynard vs edgar fight, that is if they keep winning the bouts in the mean time. i think dana may have to get the interim title out from what ive read about Edgar

Well Dana has said that if Pettis beats Guida he's next. Dunno what happens if Guida wins though. And yeh Frankie seems to be injured pretty bad. Hopefully he can make it back soon

thats why i think dana is not going to be left with many more options other than getting the interim belt out while Edgar sorts his self out

He'll probably wait on a definite timeline of the injury then we'll see what happens

Henderson is a really talented guy. He's going to be a problem for anyone he faces.
