We have an undefeated thread, but in most cases guys who lasted a long time before losing are better than guys who retired undefeated. The guys who dethroned them also tend to be better than undefeated fighters. This thread will focus on long streaks, at the 40 fight margin and above. Description of format listed first.

Most? I count 3/11 (currently), less than one third.

The 3 would be Luis Ramon Campas, Alberto de las Mercedes Cortes, and Nikolay Valuev.

Nevermind. hhascup's list is pretty comprehensive, I can't come up with anyone who isn't already included at the moment.

Billy Fox was 36-0 when Lesnevich knocked him out although many of his fights were known fixes. Chuck Davey was 37-0 when Kid Gavilan KO'd him.

To be fair Obi i watched that fight again two nights ago and Ricky did well and made it uncomfortable for Floyd. Floyd did a lot of holding early on and Ricky won some rounds. The big turn around being the 8th round when Floyd was putting his punches together. Floyd's class told in the end but i always wonder if Hatton had of fought against Pacquaio as he did Mayweather what may of happened?

Ricky Hatton is the pride of England! :)

I don't disagree. What i said about making the fight uncomfortable early on is true though. Then again it was probably the Mayweather gameplan to potshot and then come on strong once Ricky was spent (Roger told him several times to do it inbetween rounds). Harold Ledderman scored it in favour of Ricky up to Round 6 but then again Harold has always liked the aggressor!

Yea, Harold can't score for shit when it becomes to defensive fighters. Which oddly enough is strange in the case of the Toney-Griffin fights. Lederman scored both fights for Toney, and Toney still lost....this is the same Lederman who scored Toney-Jirov a draw. It pretty much solidifies Toney got robbed by Griffin twice, the second one being highway robbery.

Bullshit WBC pt deduction included, I had it a draw.

I know what you mean mate, Unintentional butt.. Pfft wank rule!
I'll score that tomorrow and see what i come up with , bare in mind i favour ring generalship/punches landed. It does say something about Whitaker's greatness though as an old Oscar struggled to deal with Swetpeas style! I'll always remember that 6/7 punch combination that saw Oscar miss big !

Whitaker = GOD @};-

He had Oscar beating him pretty clearly.

It's one of the few fights he actually did get right. Oscar won by 2 or 3 points. Even with that bullshit knock down call
