Since when does Hogan know anything about wrestling? :cop:

Bret Hart, a man who absolutely detests Shawn Michaels has openly said that HBK is an ATG. He also says that Ric Flair is the most overrated wrestler in history.

Everyone will say Shawn because they grew up watching him and missed out on Flairs prime but all the wrestlers who dont hate the man will say Flair is the GOAT:cop:

come on man...anybody who knows anything about wrestling history understands ric flair is in the top 3 wrestlers of all time(along with lou thesz/bruno sammartino)...as much as i like shawn michaels,he is lucky if he makes the top 10...

ric flair was the greatest wrestler of the last 30 years, even though an argument can be made for hulk hogan due to his WWF title reign and having the biggest impact in the history of the sport...

sounds like we have a bunch of guys on here who started watching wrestling in the mid 90's...anybody who thinks HBK rates over flair all time is a noob:cop:

Strut, fake an over the top rope fall to the ground, eye poke and lock in the figure four. He was fighting infront of 800 fans while Hogan who couldnt wrestle was selling out everywhere. Vince wernt interested in him really, he knew Flair couldnt carry a business.

Being the GOAT is just not in ring ability (Shawns in ring ability cant be touched by the way) its about mic skills, drawing power...Everything combined. HBK was a great ring general, best on the mic, most charisma, he had one of the greatest high flying games right into his mid 40's and he was a main eventer for about 20 years in the worlds biggest company :cop:

:hail: The Showstopper, The Icon, The Main Event

Base it all on just in ring then The Dynamite Kid takes a huge dump on Flair aswell. As does Benoit god rest his soul :(

now i only listed the top 100 because 500 is a LOOOOOONG list but this list was compiled by current and former wrestlers as well as commentators, writers and such...this is not the list of one man...

hulk hogan being #1 is understandable because he is largely responsible for the wrestling business being what it is today and whether he had the best mat skill or not,the guy had a great career and a long run at or around the top of wrestling...

but ric flair had the respect of his peers for his work ethic, mat skills, mic skills(nobody did better promos than flair) and he carried wrestling in a whole region in the United States...Hogan ruled the northeast but Flair ran the southeast and they were both equally large here in the west...

of course shawn michaels on average was filling bigger houses than flair but thats because the sport is more commercial and bigger by the time michaels hit his prime than when flair was in his prime...but if it werent for hogan and flair carrying wrestling in the 80's and early 90's shawn michaels and the current era of wrestlers wouldnt be selling out arenas like they are today...

hogan and flair brought wrestling back from the dead...infact flair was doing PPV's before hulk hogan and wrestlemania...starrcade 83:cop:

shawn michaels was great and one of my favorite wrestlers,i go back to his midnight rocker days when he debuted in the AWA and you're right he was more athletic than flair and phsyically could do more things but so can alot of current wrestlers...but there is no credible wrestling list that would rank him higher than ric flair on an all time list...

Angle walked right into The Main event, he was great on the mic and to this day would be a main eventer anywhere he went.

The only thing that could go against Angle is longevity, he's not had the 25+ years in the business. P4P against everyone, he has to be up there.

Austin was an excellant wrestler back in the day mate, his matches got poo after he broke his neck.

Austin gets a raw deal because of this.

Flair is now and always has been over rated imo.(not saying he isnt legendary but not to the extent people claim)

Hogan was one dimensional but a massive massive draw, but stone cold sold more than him.

HBK, yeah, great performer but pissed away best years of his career with the "clique" refusing to put guys over. For me he will never be class as GOAT.

And i hope no one here even attempts to mention HHH

Ric Flair is far superior to HBK.

Michaels is hands down the most overrated wrestler of all time. People have started ranking him as GOAT.. based on what? Bitching and moaning his way to World Titles, playing politics to prevent Bulldog getting the title run he deserved. He tried to play politics to stop Steve Austin from becoming champ too. He's a bitch.

And besides, Austin is superior to HBK. This should be a Hogan-Austin-Flair debate.

Hogan is the biggest politician in wrestling history Pea:cop:
Austin is no angel either, I remember he point blank refused to put Triple H over at SummerSlam 99, as a result they had to give the title to Foley who then dropped it the next night to Trips

Anyone who carries Vince McMahon, a 60 year old Ric Flair & John Cena to a 'match of the year' deserves to be called an ATG - all of that was done AFTER Shawn broke his back too:hail:

I don't doubt Hogan is the biggest politician. But Hogan is also the biggest name in the history of the sport. At one stage, he was bigger than the sport itself.

And Austin is no angel. But he's the highest grossing superstar in the sports history. Nobody comes close and Austin managed to do it in such a short period of time.

Michaels had great matches, delivered great promos and is a great wrestler. One of the top 15 of all time. But he's not GOAT.

none of them bar Sean and obviously HHH (only because hes married to steph and could keep himself in the spotlight) will ever be remembered for any decent contribution to wrestling.
